BILL THOMAS got into folk music through the singing of Harry Belafonte and the Kingston Trio. A friend taught him two chords on a borrowed guitar, and he was hooked. He has a deep affinity for traditional songs from around the English-singing world, and enjoys the contemporary tunes of John McCutcheon, Bill Staines, and Tom Paxton.
Bill has been a Peace Corps Volunteer, an elementary school teacher, and a human resource for a few corporations. He was a day-laborer and back-up vocalist on the 2016 Maria Gillard World Tour. Now he writes books for young people.
Located at 77 West Main Street in Macedon, NY, 77 WEST MAIN is developing into a multi-functional music venue, offering a concert series, open mics, workshops, classes, and a meeting place for music groups and organizations.
Each concert begins with an open-mic followed by the main act performance. Suggested donation is $10.00. For more information and/or directions, call, email, or text.
